I am on occasion moved to write.....very rarely.

Divinity lay in that throat. I grew up in the light of this great voice and soul.
Don't miss it.

The original and most interesting of the young lions of the Internet. Jorden's magazine "ParterreBox" and now "La Cieca" is the leading place for industry behind the scenes, high octane reportage on the current opera scene, and the occasional delicious dish read by people all over the world. Mr. Jorden cannot hide his almost encyclopedic knowledge of the art and his genuine respect, devotion and love of opera is contagious.
From his Podcast series "Unnatural Acts of Opera"
A 1991 Boston concert "Selva Opaca" from Rossini William Tell; a rare recording of a performance of "Il Trovatore", (my debut in Leonora was at the StaatsOper in 1988, this was the second performance of that debut series) "D'amor sull'ali rosee'"- then 1988 "Ah perfido" with the Chicago Symphony and James Levine and the "Hymm to the Moon" from Rusalka. It finishes with the last act of Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur, my debut in the role at Carnegie Hall with Eve Queler from 2004.
The Podcast of a great place to find everything you could imagine about opera performance, Premiere Opera.... from one of my dearest friends and one of the great lovers of opera who has seen and heard ALL the greats. He even has a great baritone voice of his own. Ed Rosen is opera's best friend, and gives every great singer hope. God Bless you, Ed for all you do for opera and the world of music.
Mr. Rosen writes:
"It is difficult to believe that it has been about 20 years since Aprile Millo made her Met debut as a very young soprano. When I first heard her, in 1985, I realized there here was a soprano that sang in the style of the "old school" of Ponselle, Muzio, and Tebaldi.
Today she is the only remaining exponent of that glorious style. Her gorgeous voice imbues the music with such emotion and passion as to take one's breath away. Millo's very recent triumph in such operas as Adriana, Gioconda, Fanciulla, Zaza have shown a new side and a growth in artistic level. Her recent Ballo at the Met showed us that she is still, today, the reigning Verdian soprano.
I am proud to live in the era where I can see Aprile Millo sing, just as I saw her great predecesors, Zinka Milanov and Renata Tebaldi. Both of these great ladies were admirers of Aprile Millo, as are countless thousands of others today.
At the last minute I was asked to sing this on a program for RAI Uno with many famous sopranos. It was a stellar night- Gina Cigna and Fedora Barbieri were in the first row, and were extremely enthusiastic to me.
